Someone asked me recently how I handle the difficult moments in this job without becoming discouraged.

Every time we speak out for our rights, every time we try to expand access to basic health care, we come up against really powerful forces. So how do we keep going?

I'll tell you what I told them.

First, I believe in Planned Parenthood's mission right down to my bones. When people count on you to stick up for their health and rights, there's no time for defeatism and no room for despair.

But the other thing, the big thing that keeps me going — it's seeing that same determination in Planned Parenthood supporters from every corner of the country.

I got a big jolt of energy seeing the incredible outpouring of support on Giving Tuesday. In just the last few days, thousands of supporters like you stepped up.

Every time someone makes a donation to Planned Parenthood Federation of America, they're helping connect patients with care and sex education.

Every gift helps break down the barriers that keep people from controlling their own bodies.

Every time you chip in, you're strengthening this movement.
