In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, our smallest businesses are still in
dire need of support.
That’s why I introduced the Saving Our Street (SOS) Act — in partnership
with Senator Kamala Harris — to ensure that our country’s smallest
businesses and nonprofits have the relief they need to get through this
crisis.
The SOS Act will provide grants up to $250,000 to community businesses and
nonprofits that have 10 or fewer employees, and 75 percent of the total
funding of the legislation will be set aside for underrepresented
businesses, like minority- and veteran-owned small businesses.
Our microbusiness’s ability to keep the lights on directly impacts issues
like food security and economic justice, which are so important as we work
together to weather this crisis.

in urging leaders in Congress to provide relief for our smallest
businesses?

Our smallest neighborhood businesses are the backbone of our communities,
but too many have been left out and left behind by previous federal relief
efforts. These businesses and organizations need our support now more than
ever.
Thank you for taking action today,
