Hi John,
This Universal Human Rights Month, we’re holding space for a vital conversation about the intersection of substance use, incarceration, and reentry.
Join us virtually on Thursday, December 19, from 3:00 - 4:00 pm PT / 6:00 - 7:00 pm ET for our next Public Health is Public Safety campaign call. We’ll explore the devastating overdose rates among incarcerated individuals and those reentering society, and discuss how 1115 waivers could expand access to life-saving healthcare for those most at risk.
Why does this matter?
As we reflect on the human rights of people impacted by the criminal legal system, it’s clear that overdose prevention must be part of the solution. The challenges faced by those navigating reentry underscore the urgent need for compassionate drug policies and a public health approach to justice.
Featuring individuals with lived experience, this conversation will delve into the policies and programs that can save lives and uphold dignity for all.
