Care touches us all. Whether we’re caring for children, aging parents, or loved ones with disabilities—or providing professional care—caregiving is a universal experience. With over 105 million caregivers in the U.S., more than 40% of the population shares this reality. Yet too often, the voices of caregivers are left out of the decisions that impact them most.
That’s why NDWA needs your story [[link removed]] .
When you share your care story, you help amplify the reality behind the statistics. Your voice can move hearts, change minds, and remind everyone that behind every number is a caregiver, a family, and a community that deserves to be valued and supported.

My husband and myself have left our home, kids and grandchildren, to live with and care for my 98-year old WWII veteran father. It is truly the hardest thing I have ever done. My father owns his home, and only has income from Social Security; my husband and I also have only Social Security and small union pension income. If we had care for my father for a few weeks a year, we could visit our children.

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.
Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
