Donald Trump will be sworn into office next month, along with an anti-environment controlled Senate and House.
It's bleak, but the margins are so close in Congress , that it will only take a few Republicans to keep protections for our water, air, and land from being thrown out.
One of those Republicans who might support protecting our natural resources is Senator-elect Dave McCormick.
Hear me out – McCormick is no doubt a conservative, but he claimed he wouldn't be afraid to stand up to his party. He also said he is a conservationist, that he supports Pennsylvania being a leader in reducing emissions, and that we must mitigate the risk of climate change. [1]
It's not going to be easy, but if McCormick hears from an outpouring of Pennsylvanians how much we love our forests and rivers and want to see them protected for future generations, we have a shot at getting him to block some of the most egregious attacks on our environment.
This is going to take all of us raising our voices. Please sign our petition now to tell Senator-elect Dave McCormick to stand up to any attempt to sell out Pennsylvania’s natural resources. [[link removed]]

If we've seen anything these last few weeks, it's that Trump's choices are not universally supported by Congress.
Take his nominees. Matt Gaetz withdrew from consideration as Attorney General. So has Trump's nominee to run the Drug Enforcement Administration. [2] Senators are calling to see background checks on Trump's nominees to lead the Pentagon and FBI. [3]
Chances are this is just the beginning of the chaos and that we can expect proposals that will be so clearly harmful to people's health and our children's future that even members of Trump's own party will oppose them.
If we can put enough pressure on Senator-elect McCormick now, we can remind him that Pennsylvania voters care about clean water, protecting our forests, and reducing our air pollution.
