[link removed] [[link removed]] John,

I wanted to reach out and thank you for supporting CREW and helping us be a voice for ethics and accountability during what we know will be challenging years to come.

Thanks to CREW supporters, we were able to raise $46,060 during our Giving Tuesday match campaign. Those grassroots donations are being doubled by our matching donor, giving us real momentum heading into the new year.

When you give to CREW, you’re supporting the work of an exceptional group of lawyers, researchers, communicators and policy advocates. We’re a team of 42 full time staffers now, but thanks to the support of our generous donors, we are able to grow our team significantly heading into the second Trump administration.

While we don’t know exactly what Donald Trump’s presidency will look like, we do know that his corruption and abuses of office are only likely to intensify. Having an even more robust team means more resources to call that out—in the media and in court.

We had a busy week doing just that: As I discussed on NPR’s Consider This [[link removed]] , Trump isn't planning to take any steps to comply with the law and avoid conflicts of interest, which is unacceptable (just like it was the first time around). I also joined Inside with Jen Psaki [[link removed]] on MSNBC to explain why Trump can’t bypass the normal nomination process, including FBI background checks. I talked with Greg Sargent for The New Republic’s podcast [[link removed]] about the fact that there is real room for leadership on corruption issues—and it’s something Americans care deeply about, no matter their party.

And finally, we filed an amicus brief [[link removed]] making the case that when the Federal Election Commission fails to do its job and enforce campaign finance law, Americans should be able to step in and sue.

We are preparing to take on some big fights over the next few years. Even if we don’t yet know exactly what they will be (because Trump has not yet taken office), we know that CREW’s expertise and willingness to take big swings will be crucial in the months to come.

Thank you for supporting us in this work,

Noah Bookbinder
President
