It’s been a month since the general election, and I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for trusting me to continue representing Illinois and fighting for the hope of what we can achieve together.
As someone who’s been organizing and in politics nearly their entire life, I know too well the heartbreak many of you are feeling at this moment from the national results. For women, working families, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and our immigrant communities, this moment feels especially devastating.
But this historic election also marks a turning point. Millions of Americans yearn for freedom, liberty, and justice, which is why my victory is a commitment to keep fighting against MAGA extremists and delivering on the promise of a better tomorrow.
The MAGA majority in the House is so slim, all of our efforts matter.
John, it’s clear we’ve got work to do, and I can’t do it alone. We need to be prepared for whatever comes next.
