Dear Illinois Republican Family,
As the holiday season unfolds, Illinois Republicans remain hard at work, channeling momentum to Make Illinois Red Again. This past week, county and township Republican organizations across the state held their caucuses for the upcoming consolidated election. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to all Illinois Republicans who understand that all politics begin at the local level. Local politics matter deeply because they address issues that directly affect people’s lives, as policy implementation happens locally, elections are decided precinct by precinct, and local economies, jobs, and social networks shape how people view broader political issues.
Some great news around the state, our Alexander County Chairwoman, Evelyn Caldwell proudly shared that Alexander County went red for Donald Trump and elected Republican County Commissioner James R. Smith, who was sworn in on Monday, December 2, 2024. This marks a historic moment, as James is the first Republican commissioner elected in Alexander County since 1996. Meanwhile, the Democrat challenger has requested a discovery recount, which will take place on December 12.
In Monroe County, Chairman Ed McLean expressed excitement about their local Republican victories for 2024, including Commissioner Doug Garmer, State’s Attorney Ryan Webb, Circuit Clerk Lisa Fallon, who is starting her third term, and Coroner Bob Hill, also beginning his third term. He remarked how time has flown by and that the continued service of these individuals is deeply appreciated. Monroe County also extends congratulations to State Senator Terri Bryant and State Representative David Friess, who steadfastly advocate for Southern Illinois families. Despite working in a Springfield environment dominated by Democrats, both leaders continue to fight for the values and priorities of the region.
Special recognition goes to Congressman Mike Bost for his incredible efforts over the past year. Not only did he overcome a primary challenge, but he also secured victory in the general election. Congressman Bost’s dedication to veterans, farming, and other critical issues demonstrates his unwavering commitment to the 12th District and the nation as a whole. As a senior member of the House, he continues to ensure that Southern Illinois has a strong voice in Washington.
At the statewide level, I am filled with gratitude for the hardworking families across Illinois—those in small towns and big cities alike—who believe in our shared vision for a better future. Farmers, small business owners, teachers, police officers, and countless others have come together to demand change. The November election was not just a victory for the Republican Party but a statement of principle. Together, we are working to restore safety to our communities, create new opportunities for economic growth, and rebuild trust in our government.
While Republicans focus on solutions, Democrats have doubled down on failed policies. The recent decision to pardon Hunter Biden underscores the corruption within the Biden administration. This isn’t just favoritism—it’s outright corruption. The pardon of the President’s son extends back to 2014 when President Biden served as Vice-President under Barack Obama. The unprecedented pardon exonerates Hunter Biden for all crimes known and unknown to have occurred under Joe Biden’s watch. No wonder we suffer a crisis of confidence in Democrat elected leaders! And, Illinois’ governor – who has his sights set on the White House – must be held accountable for his complicity. This decision is a slap in the face to every law-abiding citizen. It’s a clear message that Biden and the Democrats care more about protecting their inner circle than upholding the principles of justice. In Illinois we know this playbook all too well: it’s Mike Madigan’s brazen corruption on a national level.
We now have the momentum to chart a bold new course for Illinois. Support for this movement has come from a broad coalition of everyday Americans, including women, Latinos, Black voters, suburban men, and many more who are tired of rising costs and poor economic conditions, unchecked illegal immigration and associated crime, indoctrination over the education of our children and regulatory overreach and a lack of effective solutions to these critical issues.
Donald J. Trump has been a unifying leader for this coalition. His focus is not on retaliation but on restoring America’s strength and prosperity. His leadership promises to repair the damage of recent years and to address the failures that Democrats have caused and have refused to resolve. Let us build on this momentum to restore the American Dream—for Illinois, its families and for the entire nation.
