Folks,

Team Casten is committed to ensuring that we are doing all that we can to look out for our community during these difficult times.

That's why every day at our (virtual!) headquarters, we're finding new ways to retool our grassroots operation and stay in touch while staying in place!

Instead of knocking on doors, our volunteers are reaching out to people over the phone to check in with them, provide health and safety information, and connect them with local resources.

We wanted to share some of the conversations we've had so far:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sam: Hey, this is Sam! I'm a volunteer with Sean Casten for Congress. I just wanted to check in and see if you're doing OK during these tough times. How are things going? If you need any COVID-19 resources, IL has a phone hotline (800) 889-3931 and a website (coronavirus.illinois.gov).

Stephanie: Thanks so much, Sam. We're doing well; husband is still employed and we're managing with our emergency homeschooling measures (kids' schools are doing fantastic in working remotely for us, so we're lucky). We appreciate the check-in and hope you're doing well also! Rep. Casten's tele-town hall Thursday night was informative and we appreciate and support his hard work!

Sam: I'm glad you're doing well and that you support the congressman! If you ever need anything, please feel free to visit coronavirus.illinois.gov for help. Take care, stay safe!

Laura: Hey, this is Laura! I'm a volunteer with Sean Casten for Congress. I just wanted to check in and see if you're doing OK during these tough times. How are things going? If you need any COVID-19 resources, IL has a phone hotline (800) 889-3931 and a website (coronavirus.illinois.gov).

Karin: We're hanging in there - we have a 3rd grade remote learner, a little one potty training, one working from home full-time & I keep all the balls in the air! Thanks for checking in - hope you & your family are staying well

Laura: Oh my! That sounds like a lot to handle. Best of luck with balancing everything. Thank you and stay safe!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Frankie: Hey, this is Frankie! I'm a volunteer with Sean Casten for Congress. I just wanted to check in and see if you're doing OK during these tough times. How are things going? If you need any COVID-19 resources, IL has a phone hotline (800) 889-3931 and a website (coronavirus.illinois.gov).

Gerald: Thanks so much for checking in! I'm a teacher so I really miss my students but I am staying safe and healthy!

Frankie: I'm glad you're doing well! I'm sure your students miss you too. If you ever need anything, please feel free to visit coronavirus.illinois.gov for help. Take care, stay safe!
