Project 2025 backers will spend $1 million to pressure GOP senators to confirm Pete Hegseth
One might think that the far-right, religious radicals behind Project 2025 would take issue with Defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth's well-documented track record of epic boozing, serial philandering, and sexual misconduct, what with all the dogmatic piety they drape themselves in, but said transgressions are curiously immaterial in this case. Why? Perhaps it has something to do with the former Fox News talking head's weird obsession with ushering in a new round of Christian crusades and his deeply troubling connection to the TheoBros, a group of ultra-conservative men hellbent on turning America into a 19th-century theocratic state ruled by biblical law. Deeply weird, deeply troubling stuff.

Trump plots disastrous Day 1 attack on Biden legacy
350.org: A new POLITICO report shows that Donald Trump is planning to revive the destructive Keystone XL pipeline project as soon as he gets back into office — even though no companies are trying to build it anymore! This kind of short-sighted nihilism is exactly what we can expect from a Trump administration intent on extracting every last drop of profit out of the land, no matter how many people get hurt or how much permanent damage is done — which is why we need to start fighting back ASAP! Will you add your name to let him Trump know we won’t stand for the revival of the Keystone XL pipeline or the rest of his destructive, regressive fossil fuel agenda?
House GOP blocks release of Gaetz ethics report detailing allegations of sex with minor
The GOP-controlled House of Representatives predictably voted down two efforts by Democrats to force the chamber to release a report on former congressman-turned-Cameo-hustler Matt Gaetz from the House Ethics Committee. The full scope of the report was a mystery, but it is known to have looked into allegations that Gaetz had sex with a minor while serving as a member of Congress. The Florida gasbag has repeatedly denied the accusations he faces, which state that he had repeated sexual encounters with a then-17-year-old girl. Gaetz is seen now as a likely candidate for governor in Florida as Ron DeSantis is term-limited. Take all the time you need with that.
Anthem reverses plans to put time limits on anesthesia coverage
Welp, that didn't last long. But it does raise a few burning questions: how many bone-headed, quarterly profit-worshipping vampires had to sign off on this remarkably stupid, life-endangering policy, and will anyone be held accountable for greenlighting it? We aren't holding our breath.

Elon Musk spent a quarter-billion dollars electing Trump, including financing mysterious "RBG PAC"
A cool $250,000,000 bought the billionaire ketamine enthusiast a cushy seat at Donald's table, and he clearly has no plans to vacate it anytime soon. We can't wait to see what moronic and deeply undemocratic policies that gets him and how badly it hurts the 99%.
