A California neighborhood awoke to a ruckus in the middle of the night. Seeing a pig, her nine piglets, and their potbelly friend parading through the streets must have been a surprise!
After a three-a.m. call, local animal control officers gathered the pigs and brought them to Chula Vista Animal Care Facility, which turned to our dedicated rescue team for help.
Thankfully, every one of the pigs has been adopted, and we welcomed the inseparable Grace and Jodean to Farm Sanctuary, where they feel right at home.
Both pigs love to splash in the water together. Talkative Grace is a protective mother but can’t contain Jodean's rebellious nature as the fearless piglet soaks up the freedom of sanctuary! Jodean is a natural swimmer who doggy-paddles her way across the pig pond—and even comes running to us for belly rubs when she hears her name!
