Oppose the Public Charge rule

Dear John,

The White House has come out with a sweeping policy change that will lead to more hungry kids in our country.

The policy will put legal immigrants' status in jeopardy if they use services like food assistance and other benefits to which they're legally entitled. And children are most likely to be the hardest hit.

Take Action: Tell your elected representatives to oppose this policy and to fight for kids and families across the U.S.

The Public Charge rule targets families who have immigrated lawfully based on use or potential use of public benefits. But we know the impact will be much greater, affecting many children, including those who are U.S. citizens. Many families will withdraw from the programs that help feed, house and keep them healthy.

If this rule goes into effect, many parents will face the agonizing choice between feeding their kids and keeping their families together. This means more kids in America will be at risk of hunger, of losing stable housing, of getting sick.

We believe every child in America has a right not to be hungry. We know you agree, which is why we're asking you to take urgent action now.

Thanks for all you do to end childhood hunger.
