Visit new thought-provoking exhibition inspired by the Doomsday Clock
From tomorrow, Saturday 7 December, until Saturday 1 March, visit Gallery Oldham to see an exhibition inspired by the Doomsday Clock.
Developed in 1947 as an indicator showing how close humanity is to self-destruction, it was then set at seven seconds to midnight. The hands are currently set at 90 seconds to midnight.
The exhibition Minute to Midnight features work from five north-west artists exploring the climate crisis, alongside endangered bird species and pressed flowers from the gallery’s collection.
And there will be a talk with the artists on Saturday 25 January at 2pm, discussing ‘What is the role of the Artist at the End of Time?’.
There is no booking required.
