Gratitude in Action: Turning Thanks into Change

Greetings,

In a time of challenges and change, practices of gratitude remind us to be thankful for the incredible contributions immigrants bring to our communities and the unwavering support of those who welcome them. This season, we pause to reflect on the resilience and strength of immigrants who enrich our communities and the tireless efforts of individuals and organizations that embrace and support them.

At the National Immigration Forum, we are especially thankful for the inspiring work of our partners across the nation. Through programs such as Students of Welcome (SoW), where students on college campuses are engaging immigration topics and advocacy, and our English language learning through faith communities which provides English classes for immigrants, we see firsthand how communities are investing in immigrants and advocating for pathways toward empowerment and collective success. These programs highlight the powerful impact of welcoming policies and partnerships, transforming gratitude into action that benefits all of us.

Through our mobilization efforts, we empower leaders and advocates across the country to push for positive change. Whether it is equipping community members to engage in meaningful dialogue or leading campaigns that support better immigration policies, we are reminded daily of the collective power of those who choose to welcome. Generosity is a uniting force, and your continued support enables us to advocate for a just immigration system that prioritizes human dignity, family unity, border and community safety, and economic opportunity and prosperity (read our guiding principles here). Today, we ask you to stand with us in gratitude for the work we have accomplished together as we also look to the work ahead. Join us in uplifting our immigrant neighbors by adding your name to this call to action for better immigration policies. Help us expand our capacity to advocate for the value of immigrants and immigration to our country, because only together we can push past harmful rhetoric and drive lasting reforms in 2025 and beyond.

Thank you for your commitment to creating communities and a nation that is more welcoming to immigrants.
