Hi John,

It’s weird you need to make this point, but here it is: Politicians should pay for their own Taylor Swift concert tickets.

And this is your chance to send that message.

Federal Emergency Preparedness Minister Harjit Sajjan is going to the sold-out show at B.C. Place on Saturday as a guest of B.C. PavCo, the Crown corporation that operates the stadium. That means that taxpayers are on the hook for Sajjan’s tickets.

Tickets in suites, like the ones given to Sajjan, would normally cost $18,000 - $23,000 each, according to media reports.

Sajjan has attempted to defend his decision by claiming he made a $1,500 donation to a local food bank in lieu of paying for the two tickets.

Remember, as one of Trudeau’s ministers, Sajjan already takes home about $300,000 per year from taxpayers.

Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim, B.C. Premier David Eby and B.C. Tourism Minister Spencer Chandra Herbert all declined taxpayer-funded tickets from PavCo.

This is your chance to push Sajjan to decline taxpayer funded concert tickets. Just click the automatic link below and a pre-addressed email will pop up. And it’ll BCC us because it helps to know what people are telling politicians.

Quick tip: Emails work best when they’re to the point and respectful.

Will you tell Sajjan to decline taxpayer funded concert tickets for him and his daughter?
* Yes - I’ll email Sajjan (just click this link and a pre-addressed email will pop up) (mailto:[email protected][email protected])
* No – I don’t want to send an email today (if you’d like to tell us why, just click here ([link removed]) )

Note: In case the automatic link isn’t working on your device, here is the email address for Sajjan: [email protected]

Thanks for standing up and fighting for taxpayers – it’s making a difference!

Sincerely,

Carson Binda
B.C. Director for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation

P.S.: It only takes a couple minutes to tell Sajjan not to take concert tickets from tapped-out taxpayers: [email protected] (mailto:[email protected][email protected])
