*When election turnout is high, Republicans win!*

"House Republicans came within 21 votes of being the majority party and 60 votes of taking control of the Maine House"

This is House Republican Leader Billy Bob Faulkingham of Winter Harbor with the Weekly Republican Address.

Maine legislative Republicans do well when voter turnout is the highest.

That was again the case on November 5 when House Republicans came within 21 votes of being the majority party in the House and 60 votes of taking control of the chamber.

In the process, House Republicans flipped 8 seats previously held by Democrats and now have 73 seats, 3 short of the majority.

Our Senate Republican colleagues gained 2 seats.

It appears that more Mainers voted in the 2024 election than any other election in Maine history.

According to unofficial data from the secretary of state's office, 842,447 ballots were cast in Maine’s presidential race.

That compares to 828,305 ballots in 2020, a year that Republicans gained 11 seats.

By comparison, in the 2022 non-presidential year election, 680,909 Maine voters cast ballots and House Republicans gained 1 seat.

The results of this past election prove that the momentum is on our side.

The more Maine citizens vote, the more Republicans get elected to help change the direction of our state.

More Maine people heard our message and supported legislative Republicans.

The November election was heartbreakingly close.

Just a handful of votes in a couple of races would have changed the outcome.

Still, our situation has improved enough to make a difference.

The increase in numbers will improve our odds at stopping the most extreme ideas being promoted by Democrats.

An engaged public can and will be the deciding factor on passing or defeating many bills.

Expect legislative Republicans to continue to fight for Maine people.

Please help us in this fight by sharing our messages with family, friends and neighbors when you agree with us.
