BREAKING: OK REPUBLICANS DEBATE IF CHICKEN SH!T IN YOUR DRINKING WATER IS GOOD... ACTUALLY

John,

This week Governor Stitt fired his own Secretary of Energy & Environment, Ken McQueen. Secretary McQueen appeared at an evidentiary review of what is already a settled case, a federal case in which the judge ruled that poultry companies had polluted the Illinois River Watershed in Northeast Oklahoma. McQueen's appearance is all it took for Governor Stitt to dream up a conspiracy of imagined enemies and send out a Trump-like tweet firing his own selected Cabinet Secretary.

Chicken Stitt spent the past year sucking up to polluters. After receiving over $30,000 in contributions from donors related to Simmons Foods, one of the named polluters; Stitt signed SB 1442 in April . This tailor made bill shielded giant out-of-state conglomerates, like Tyson, from liability for their disposal of poultry waste into Oklahoma waters as long as the State signed off on the company's disposal plan.

Oklahomans deserve better than water contaminated with E. coli. Democrats in the State House fought for your right to clean water. Extremist Republicans, beholden to special interests, passed the bill with a veto-proof majority while every single Democrat voted against this giveaway to bad actors mucking up our state.

While Stitt’s latest outburst is embarrassing and beneath the dignity of our great state, it doesn't change the facts. Firstly, it is already settled legally that these companies polluted Oklahoma waters. The remaining hearings of this case concern the scope of the remediation that the companies owe Oklahomans.

Secondly, Dems stood up to fight for cleaner water and hold polluters and bad corporate actors accountable.

Thirdly, those Democrats that fought for people not special interests, outperformed the red lean of the state last month.

Our incumbent Democrats in the House, targeted by rightwing misinformation campaigns, over performed the increased red lean of the state this year by an average of 2.77 points! This shows that even Republican voters prefer to be represented by local Democrats that win through people powered campaigns. While Republicans obey their donors, we’ll keep standing up for ALL Oklahomans.

Oklahoma Democrats have been fighting for Water Protections for decades. It was Attorney General Drew Edmondson who brought this case to court to protect Oklahomans and our waters in 2005. This week, he described Stitt's tweet as, "just stupid and wrong." We couldn't agree more.
