John,
I tried to brush off his explicit comments toward me, but I couldn't brush off the touching.
And I couldn't brush off lewd comments about my one-year old daughter.
I reported disgusting behavior like this from two different co-workers several times, but McDonald's didn't take me seriously. My hours got cut -- making it almost impossible to support my daughter. Try raising a toddler on a paycheck of $67 a week.
But now I'm fighting back. I'm part of a movement -- and today a coalition of unions representing tens of millions of workers are filing a first-of-its-kind international complaint on behalf of McDonald's workers around the world over the company's global failure to address sexual harassment.
Right now Congress is deciding what will be in the next COVID relief package, and we will NOT be left behind again. Sign the petition to stand with us and demand McDonald's stop sexual harassment now. >>

When this happened to me, I hadn't had any training from McDonald's on what sexual harassment was, what my rights were, or how to even report what happened to me.
I learned from other women in the Fight for $15 and a Union that I'm not the only one that McDonald's has exposed to this humiliating, unsafe work environment. And once I knew my rights, I spoke up.
We've held protests. We've been in the news. We've interrupted McDonald's executives to demand an answer. Then in April, I filed a lawsuit on behalf of 5,000 women like me who've worked at McDonald's here in Florida to demand compensation for what we've gone through, and that they take steps to stop and prevent sexual harassment in their restaurants.
And through ALL OF THIS McDonald's has refused to even acknowledge there's a problem.
As the complaint being filed today points out, "gender-based violence and harassment is part of McDonald's culture." It's outrageous. Unacceptable. Wrong. We deserve better. >>
