THINK! launches new campaign ‘Drink a Little. Risk a Lot’ 

The UK Government’s THINK! Campaign has launched a new advertising campaign ‘Drink a Little. Risk a Lot’, to remind drivers that even a couple of drinks before driving could harm others or cause drivers to lose their licence. The campaign is targeting 17- to 24-year-old men who are over-represented in deaths and serious injuries involving drink-driving, and will run across social media, online video, radio, digital audio, podcasts, billboards near to pubs and bars and in-venue posters and beermats. 

New WHO ‘Alcohol Policy Playbook’ published 

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has published its ‘Alcohol Policy Playbook’, described as “empowering public health advocates to navigate alcohol policy challenges”. It addresses key questions about the impact of alcohol and the efficacy of key policies, including pricing, availability controls, marketing restrictions, labelling, drink-driving interventions, and regulations for no- and low-alcohol products.

Alcohol is often a factor in suicide, but what does that mean? While alcohol doesn’t cause suicide, its roles in many situations that lead to suicide cannot be ignored. Alcohol Change UK warmly invites you to join our next online learning conference, on the topic of understanding and addressing suicide amongst people experiencing alcohol problems.
