On Monday, Lillian's List Featured Candidate and Jan Allen Courage Award recipient Senator Sydney Batch was chosen as the next leader of the NC Senate's Democratic Caucus. She is the first ever Black woman to hold this position. We are so proud of Sen. Batch and we know she will be a great leader for the caucus!
We also want to recognize Senator Kandie Smith, who was appointed as the NC Legislative Black Caucus chair earlier this year. We are so fortunate to have leaders like these in our state, and here at Lillian's List we are dedicated to continuing to develop a pipeline of progressive women leaders at all levels of office.
