Believe it or not, I’m writing this from a Boeing 737 parked at Charlotte Douglas, because somehow, writing fundraising emails is still less miserable than being at the airport.
The other thing that makes travel less miserable is being surrounded by the other incredible young political leaders we’re sending to the Young Democrats of America Winter Meeting up in Boston. We’re looking forward to a few incredible days of caucus meetings, trainings and panels, and accomplishing the important business of charting a path forward for our party.
We’ll also get the chance to celebrate a huge win for North Carolina on Sunday as we confirm YDNC’s own Katherine Jeanes as YDA’s next delegate to the Democratic National Committee.
Their elevation to national party office is a direct result of the fact that, with your support, we’ve been able to build a real pipeline in YDNC over the last few years. Our great, ongoing project has been to establish that young people are not just the future of our party: we are its present. Because of contributions from folks like you, our members can call themselves county, district, and state party chairs, members of the legislature, and even members of the DNC.
Since our founding in 1928, Young Democrats have stood at the forefront of change in our party, and I’m truly excited to be able to keep building on that legacy in the years to come.
That success is only possible because of your support. So, before the very nice lady comes onto the intercom to tell me it’s time to turn off my phone, can I ask you to
please make a contribution to YDNC today? Your support will help us continue offering our members opportunities like these. We can’t do it without you.
