Submit Your Intentions for Five Holy Masses – Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Guadalupe Dec. 8-12

Dear Friend,

Coming up shortly, the Church calendar has three Marian feast days; one is a Holy Day of Obligation. What do they have in common? The holiness and purity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The December 8 Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary has been transferred to Monday, December 9. In the United States, it is a Holy Day of Obligation because under that title given to Mary, as the Immaculate Conception, she was proclaimed the Patroness of the United States. Let us invoke the Blessed Mother to sweep our country clean from pornography, illicit, unnatural and impure acts of lust, and to fill every citizen’s heart with a desire for modesty and to live morally - not only in the clothing worn but also in the foul language spoken so frequently in daily conversations. May Our Lady come to the aid of all those who suffer from gender dysphoria, i.e. transgenderism, that they may experience God’s love and be open to know the truth – not to give in to reconstruct or change their natural gender – to keep their bodies pure.

December 10th is the Memorial Feast of Our Lady of Loreto, which Pope Francis reinstated in the Church calendar in 2019. In the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also known as the Litany of Loreto, we recite the following invocations: Mother most pure, pray for us, Mother most chaste, pray for us, Mother inviolate, pray for us and Mother undefiled, pray for us. It is indeed a beautiful way to praise Mary’s purity and holiness.

December 12th is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, also called the Virgin of Guadalupe. Under this title of the Blessed Mother, she is also called the Patroness of the Unborn and the Pro-life Movement. I have read about young people asking the Virgin of Guadalupe to come to their aid in remaining pure and chaste until their Sacramental Marriage. On March 12, Cardinal Burke launched a nine-month worldwide novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe, ending on the December 12 Feast Day. His Eminence will lead an Act of Consecration during the holy Mass, which will be live streamed on the internet and broadcast on EWTN, from the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The intentions that you submit will be included in this Holy Mass, as well as four other Holy Masses, beginning on Sunday, December 8.

Let us entrust all of our petitions to the Holy and Pure Virgin Mary, who will never abandon us, for she is our Mother!

May the Blessed Virgin Mary, who leads us to the tender mercy of God, continue to assist us in all our necessities and especially for many graces to be bestowed upon Cardinal Burke. Our heavenly Mother watches over His Eminence with great love, let us also thank her!

Yours in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

Thomas McKenna
