📅 Wednesday, December 11: All States Certify Election Results
States finalize their vote counts, including mail-in, early, and in-person ballots. Once completed, each state certifies its election results and officially confirms the outcome.
📅 Tuesday, December 17: State Electors Cast Electoral College Votes
Electoral College members gather in state capitals to cast their votes for president and vice president.
📅 Wednesday, December 25: State Electors Submit Electoral College Votes
State officials send election certificates to the vice president, who acts as president of the Senate, by this date.
📅 Friday, January 3: The New U.S. Congress Convenes
The 119th U.S. Congress meets for the first time. Newly elected representatives take their oaths of office, and leaders assume their roles.
📅 Monday, January 6: Congress Counts Electoral College Votes
In a joint session, the House and Senate review and certify the Electoral College votes, officially confirming the next president and vice president.
📅 Monday, January 20: Inauguration Day
The grand finale! The president-elect and vice president-elect take their oaths of office at the U.S. Capitol, marking the start of their new terms.
