Urban Institute Update
Dear Friend,
For more than 50 years and through shifts in government, the Urban Institute has made a difference—shaping the decisions of legislators, philanthropists, service providers, advocates, and program administrators at every level of government. Today, we stand more determined than ever to unlock pathways to a more equitable future for everyone.
Local leaders around the country grapple with understanding and improving their communities’ conditions. Providing access to data, outlining effective methods, and building supportive partnerships can help these leaders work toward positive change.

Donate today to scale our work to reach more communities and unlock long-lasting solutions.
Urban’s Upward Mobility team has been working to build the infrastructure to scale opportunity across the United States. In dozens of localities across states including California, Florida, Missouri, Minnesota, Ohio, and Washington, DC, the team works with nonprofit and government partners to enable everyone to have a fair shot at reaching their fullest potential.
In places like Boone County, Missouri, Urban is working with community partners to provide local leaders with actionable insights, tools, and assistance to uncover the disparities their residents face. Guided by the Upward Mobility team's data, Boone County developed its first-ever Mobility Action Plan, backed by the community, to drive real opportunities for families’ prosperity.
Your support powers this type of inclusive, lasting change generated through local action. Invest in Urban today to expand this work and unlock possibilities in the lives of families and communities.
