On November 21st, the House of Representatives passed the “Nonprofit Killer Bill,” which, if signed into law, would grant the Secretary of the Treasury the authority to declare nonprofits as supporting terrorism, jeopardizing the ability of organizations advocating for justice, human rights, and equality to operate freely and without fear of political retaliation.

If enacted, H.R. 9495 would set a dangerous precedent, chilling advocacy and silencing critical voices within civil society—particularly those working to support Palestinian rights and peace initiatives. Now, as the fight moves to the Senate, it is crucial that we act decisively to prevent this bill from becoming law.
