Do you know what the EMILY in EMILYs List stands for, John?
The acronym spells out "Early Money is Like Yeast" — because it makes the dough rise. In other words, investing early pays off.
Our organization was built on the premise that early donations are the most critical for Democratic pro-choice women, because early investment helps launch strong, viable campaigns that will attract more donors down the line. So while it may seem early, we've already started preparing for the 2026 midterm elections.
We need to recruit strong candidates who can help shape the national conversation around Democratic values — and then we need to give those candidates as much support as possible as early as possible. That's how Rep. Emilia Sykes, Sen.-elect Elissa Slotkin, and dozens of other women built their winning campaigns in the years leading up to 2024.
There's no such thing as an "off year" in politics, John. The investments we make right now will build the foundation for success in 2026 – a year when we need to take back the U.S. House and Senate, win and defend critical governors' seats, and shore up pro-choice majorities in state legislatures nationwide. The work doesn't stop, and neither do we.
In short, your dollar goes the furthest right now. Donate toward our $75,000 Grassroots Giving Fund to invest early in Democratic pro-choice women running in 2026 and beyond:
