This year at Girls For A Change has been one of profound growth, celebration, and meaningful impact. Together, our team has achieved remarkable milestones, including the success of Daughters on Netflix, the launch of our Impact Campaign, and the incredible honor of our CEO, Sistah Angela, winning Best New Director from the Critics’ Choice Awards alongside
Co-Director Natalie Rae.
We also raised over $50,000 for our college scholarship fund for senior participants, reimagined school partnerships, and strengthened our curriculum models to better co-create with Black girls. Additionally, we formed a new partnership with schools to support research initiatives and develop innovative programming approaches. Our collaboration with Simpson Street will help us scale our impact and expand our presence, ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of Black girls and their communities.
Furthermore, we received transformative support through the Bank of America Neighborhood Builders grant, which has helped us expand leadership staff and brings us closer to building a new space for our participants as we continue to outgrow our current home. Each of these accomplishments reflects our 20-year commitment to expanding access and creating opportunities for Black girls, empowering them to thrive and lead.
Now is the time to reflect on what can be celebrated….
