Dear John,

With so many razor-close U.S. House races across California, I feel like I’ve barely had time to collect my thoughts about the 2024 Election and what comes next for us as a party and a country in 2025.

But here is what I know for sure: I am so grateful you are a part of our team.

To every volunteer who knocked, called, texted, or gave, we are here because of you and your hard work.

A very special thank you to everyone who has donated after November 5th in order to fund our operations to ensure every single eligible vote was counted. Without you, some of these narrow red-to-blue flips may have been lost.

Thank you for all you’ve done and all you will do to recover and rebuild what has been lost.

While we can be incredibly proud of what we've achieved here in California: flipping red seats to blue, strengthening our legislative majorities, setting a record for the number of women in the state legislature, and continuing our work to protect California's values, I know the result of the Presidential race is devastating.

As a result, many of us are feeling the pain and sadness of a tough loss. That’s okay.

But we must remember what Vice President Harris said: “We believe in the promise of America.” Like you, I am prepared to fight to ensure that promise is alive and well for all Americans for generations to come. Simply put, so many are counting on us in this challenging moment in our Nation’s history. We must not let them down.

And we’ve already kept up that fight this month through our ballot curing efforts. Now, we gear up for the long haul and prepare for all the work that is ahead.

Until then, get some well-deserved rest and get ready to get back into the fight. Because it will take all of us to protect all we hold dear and preserve the Democracy we love so much. And I know California Democrats will continue to lead the way!
