Dear Friend,
As a proud former President of the
National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL
Women), I am delighted to invite you to this year’s
Assemblywoman Gwen Moore Annual Policy Brunch, held
during the National Black Caucus of State Legislators Annual
Legislative Conference. This cherished event continues the
legacy of thoughtful dialogue and advocacy on the critical issues
facing our communities.
Event Details:
Date: Saturday,
December 7, 2024
Time: 10:00
AM
Location: The
Decatur House (Home to the White House Historical Association;
Jackson Place and H Street NW, Washington, DC.)

Formerly known as the NOBEL Women
Policy Breakfast, this event has been renamed in honor of the late
Assemblywoman Gwen Moore, a trailblazing leader who
devoted her career to public service and breaking barriers for women
of color in politics. Assemblywoman Moore was the first African
American woman elected to the California State Assembly, where she
championed policies for economic equity, affordable housing, and
access to education. Her legacy of service and advocacy continues to
inspire leaders nationwide.
For those unfamiliar with
NOBEL Women, it is a bipartisan organization
dedicated to empowering and supporting Black women legislators across
the country. Founded in 1985, NOBEL Women promotes leadership, builds
networks, and provides policy education to ensure that Black women in
elected office are well-equipped to lead and drive impactful
change.
The brunch offers a unique
opportunity to engage with fellow policymakers, community leaders, and
advocates as we discuss solutions to the pressing challenges affecting
our communities. I hope you’ll join me in honoring Assemblywoman
Moore’s enduring legacy and supporting the vital work of NOBEL
Women.
