Join members of Congress to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on immigrants
Advocate,

Today at 3 pm EST, I will talk with civil rights leaders and chairs of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus about COVID-19's impact on immigrants and communities of color — and how we are working to ensure no one is left behind in our nation's response.

The Facebook Live virtual town hall will feature:
  •   Rep. Judy Chu, chair, Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus
  •   Rep. Joaquin Castro, chair, Congressional Hispanic Caucus
  •   John Yang, president and executive director, Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC
  •   Thomas Saenz, president and general counsel, MALDEF
The relief package Congress passed in March fell woefully short of safeguarding our most marginalized communities. Some eight million Americans and 3.5 million children were left out of the CARES Act — and many of these families are essential workers on the front lines of the crisis.

But last week, the House passed bold and comprehensive legislation that provides relief to all communities. Join us at 3 pm as we discuss the potential impact of the new response package and how civil rights activists — how all of you — can take action to ensure Congress leaves no community behind in this pandemic.

I hope to see you there — you can use this link to join us.
