Hey friend,

House Democrats have submitted a new relief package that would make massive strides toward eliminating the digital divide that disproportionately affects Americans of color.

The HEROES Act would provide roughly $5.5 billion to expand broadband Internet infrastructure. That’s the kind of sweeping overhaul that minority communities need to give them equal access to the most valuable utility of our time.

We’ve known for years that black and Hispanic Americans, especially those who are older or who haven’t attended college, are dramatically less likely to have internet access compared to white Americans.

And one longtime solution -- the public library -- is now no longer available because of the pandemic. For many Americans who live in rural parts of the country, that option never existed anyway.

This is a clear civic obligation: give the most vulnerable Americans increased access to education, to career opportunities, and to virtual communities by supporting broadband Internet expansion. And do it over the resistance of Mitch McConnell -- who’s already drawn a red line against more aid and has said broadband Internet shouldn’t be included in any more relief packages.

We need 10,000 voters to join us TODAY in voicing their support for broadband Internet expansion! If you agree that Mitch McConnell shouldn’t be allowed to wall off rural communities and people of color from economic prosperity, educational advancement, and the modern world, please add your name to ours now! >> [link removed]

Thank you for standing with us,
