We know that the First Past the Post system is broken. It means that millions of people’s voices are not heard, increasing disillusionment with politics.

And at this year’s election, it produced the most disproportionate result in our history - with a Labour Government winning two-thirds of the seats on one-third of the vote.

Liberal Democrats will always be the leading voice making the case for proportional representation. We’ve used our role as the largest third party in Parliament in a century to put it right back on the political agenda - and this week’s vote is a major step forward.

Now we are pushing Labour to honour the will of Parliament and make time for the Bill to complete its passage. And at Prime Minister’s Questions this week, Ed Davey called on Keir Starmer to back my Bill - but sadly he failed to do so.
