WHAT: Gov. Justice and First Lady Cathy Justice will host the annual Joyful Night celebration, an evening filled with holiday festivities. The event will feature performances by the Woodrow Wilson High School Band, Nitro High School Showcats Show Choir, and the Barboursville Elementary Choir.
Gov. Justice and First Lady Cathy Justice will light the State Christmas Tree, a 54-foot Norway Spruce. This tree was specially harvested from Watoga State Park in Pocahontas County. After the tree lighting, the festivities will move to the Culture Center’s Great Hall, where light refreshments will be served. Guests will also get to view the winning ornaments from the First Lady’s West Virginia Student Ornament Competition.
For those unable to attend the event in person, West Virginia Public Broadcasting will broadcast the celebration live on the West Virginia Channel.
