This is incredible. Incredibly absurd.

Chuck Schumer

I know so many of us are being impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak -- but if anything, this response shows how important it is to elect officials who will work hard for us and share the truth. But if you'd prefer to take a break from updates about Senate races in these uncertain times, let us know and we'll unsubscribe you for a few weeks -- because sometimes, we all need a quick break.

Friend,

"We're going to fill it."

Here we are, less than six months before the November presidential election -- almost where we were four years ago, when President Obama moved to fill a Supreme Court vacancy with Merrick Garland. Senate Republicans stonewalled it from moment one -- claiming they wouldn't fill a seat during a "presidential election year."

Well, it was really no surprise to hear them out their hypocrisy on full display: Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming confidently claimed they'd fill an open seat if it came up. Senator John Cornyn jumped in, too: "If the president makes a nomination then it's our responsibility to take it up."

Incredible that they're focused on "responsibility" -- even after they abandoned it four years ago. We need senators who fight for people, not politics. We have to flip the Senate.

We have less than six months until Election Day, and every dollar makes a difference: Donate $5 or more now to elect Democrats to the U.S. Senate who will put people over politics.

Sincerely,

Chuck Schumer
