KAPOLEI MIDDLE SCHOOL PUBLIC NOTICE:
RESPONDING TO A BIASED WORKSHEET
In response to concerns over a politically biased worksheet given to a 6th-grade class at Kapolei Middle School, Representative Garcia has taken immediate action to address the issue.

Upon learning of the situation, Representative Garcia spoke directly with the principal of Kapolei Middle School, who assured him that the matter was being addressed and steps were taken to ensure neutrality in the classroom moving forward.

In addition, Representative Garcia’s office is in communication with the Campbell-Kapolei Complex Area Superintendent and formal inquiries will be made to the Department of Education to ensure that political bias is not present in educational materials.

Representative Garcia remains committed to ensuring that Hawaii’s public schools uphold the principles of neutrality and provide an unbiased education for all students.

In response to the devastating fire in Lahaina, Maui in August 2023, members of the Hawaii State House Republican Caucus traveled to the affected community. During their visit, they immersed themselves in the aftermath, gaining insights into the resilience and determination among the locals. By engaging directly with survivors of the Lahaina Wildfire, they asked pressing questions about the adequacy of government response, the effectiveness of communication efforts, and the development of a plan for the future. Now, you can uncover the answers by watching the documentary "After the Fire Lahaina Report".
