John,
Every single year, the United States generates a staggering 35 million tons of plastic waste. That makes us the world's single biggest plastic polluter.[1,2]
We throw out enough plastic to fill one and a half Dallas Cowboys football stadiums every single day.[3]
That's why PIRG is determined to move our country beyond plastic -- but there are just a few hours left this Giving Tuesday.
Are you with us? Donate today.

John,
Amazon sent more than 1.5 billion deliveries to doorsteps during a single holiday shopping season.[1] At this time of year, as we shop for gifts and essentials alike, wasteful plastic packaging piles up for all of us.
A problem as massive as the plastic pollution crisis -- and a company as big as Amazon -- might feel impossible to contend with alone.
But together, we can make a difference.
This Giving Tuesday, we're raising $30,000 to fuel our work to move our country beyond plastic. Will you help us meet our goal by midnight tonight?

We have a plastic pollution problem on our hands.
Every single year, the United States generates an unbelievable 35 million tons of plastic waste. We're the world's single biggest plastic polluter.[2]
Here's the good news: We know we can convince big companies like Amazon to cut waste -- because we've done it before.
After 138,000 people like you banded together to urge Amazon to reduce single-use plastic in its shipments, the retail giant announced that it would phase out plastic shipping envelopes and plastic air pillows.[3]
Amazon still needs to deliver on these commitments, and get rid of the rest of their plastic packaging.
This win was a huge first step -- but there's still more work to do.
Will you help make it possible, John? Make your Giving Tuesday gift now.

At PIRG, we have decades of experience combining professional research with advocacy and grassroots organizing to tackle big problems. And we do it all thanks to the combined efforts of supporters like you; we don't take a penny from corporations.
Convincing corporations to cut back on wasteful packaging is just one part of our overall plan to build a world beyond plastic. We're also working to:
* Restrict the worst kinds of single-use plastic;
* Hold plastic polluters accountable for the waste their products become;
* Win regulations on plastic pellet pollution.
To keep these campaigns going strong, we need everyone who believes in a zero-waste future to come together.
Give the gift of a plastic-free world to future generations by making your Giving Tuesday donation today.
