It’s Shawn, Sister District’s Organizing and Political Director. I know you don’t receive fundraising emails from me often, but today is an extra special day — it’s Giving Tuesday! 

Earlier today, we kicked off an entire month of giving to raise critical funds to equip, train, and provide crucial capacity-building resources to both our future candidates and our incredible network of 90,000 volunteers. Thanks to generous donors, every donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $40,000! 

As someone who works directly with our candidates, organizers, and volunteer teams, I see firsthand how transformative your early support is. Your generosity helps create winning strategies in key districts, providing campaigns with the tailored support and tools they need to succeed. It also helps us recruit, train, and empower volunteers to make a real impact on the ground. 

I’ve been keeping a close eye on our donations today, and so far, we've brought in thousands of dollars toward our goal.

Sister District was founded 8 years ago, and supporters like you have powered our critical work to build progressive power every step of the way. Early donations from supporters like you will help us make an even bigger impact in 2025 — especially at a time when strengthening our state legislatures has never been more important.

John, as a grassroots organization, we make every dollar stretch as far as possible because we value your support. And because you’re a key part of our movement, I want to show you exactly what your contribution will help fund: 

• Peer-to-Peer Texting Campaigns to Recruit Volunteers. Our volunteers power our movement, and texting is one of the best ways to recruit and mobilize them.
• Host Volunteer Leaders at Regional Workshops. These are in-person trainings where volunteer leaders will learn organizing best practices and prepare for the election ahead.
• A weekend canvassing trip for volunteers. Transportation and meals for 20 volunteers to spend two days knocking doors in a state legislative swing district.
• One month of an autodialer subscription for campaigns. This tool increases phonebanking efficiency and accuracy by eliminating manual dialing.
• Volunteer recruitment campaigns. Data targeting, ad design, and digital deployment of recruitment campaigns to expand our national network of grassroots volunteers.
• Organizing Fellows. Stipend and program costs for Organizing Fellows to cultivate vital field skills with guidance from seasoned campaign operatives.
• Two weeks of digital organizing tools for our entire volunteer network. These are platforms used by local volunteer teams to host events and organize members around field and fundraising opportunities.

These aren’t just line items on a budget — they’re the building blocks of the grassroots change we’re fighting for.
