But now, new potential policies on the horizon threaten the foundation of critical legal programs like medical deferred action. This vital protection has allowed individuals, many of them children, to temporarily access lifesaving medical care without fear of deportation.

With the new administration, these protections are at risk, forcing families to make impossible choices between their health and their safety. While we don’t yet know the full scope of policy changes ahead, the threats are severe, and the impact could be catastrophic.
