The investments in  this movement to end gerrymandering and restore democracy are paying off:

This election, in both Louisiana and Alabama, thanks to the fair maps that were finally put in place after the Allen v. Milligan decision, voters elected two Black members of Congress — ensuring both states are far closer to representation that truly reflects their voters.

And in Arizona, the work we did to educate voters helped defeat a ballot initiative that would have essentially ended term limits for state supreme and appellate court judges and locked in extreme partisan court majorities for decades.

The months ahead might be even tougher. We need to be ready for concrete threats ahead like Donald Trump and his MAGA allies undermining the census, more attacks on the Voting Rights Act, and ongoing attempts to gerrymander at the state level.
