Hi friend,
Last night, I participated in the Transit Riders Mayoral Forum, where we had a critical conversation about the future of transportation in our city.
Transportation is at the heart of how we live, work, and connect. I don’t have a driver’s license – I ride the subway everywhere I go, and my kids ride the subway by themselves to school. Making sure our subways and buses are safe, accessible, and dependable is part of my daily life.
But I want to hear from you: Will you take a moment to share your story? Your experiences and feedback on our city’s transit is vital to the heart of this campaign »
I believe that by working together, we can create a transportation system that not only gets people where they need to go, but does so with dignity and efficiency.
Here’s my plan for public safety in our transit system:
✅ Upskill EMT & EMS workers & inject clinicians into the B-Heard program that responds to mental health emergencies
✅ Transform vacant MTA retail spaces into social services help desks
✅ Re-open and staff mental health facilities, properly train police officers
Last night’s forum reinforced my belief that we can do better for our transit riders—and I’m committed to leading that change, but that starts with your voice.
Take a moment to share your experiences and help us build a transit future that works for everyone.
Thank you for being with us every step of the way.
Sincerely,
Jessica Ramos
P.S. If you want to catch my next forum, I’ll be talking about NYC housing and tenants’ rights this Saturday at the 19th Annual West Side Tenants Conference. You can register here.
