Hi, friends, it’s Bob Dean — Mad’s older brother — reaching out this Giving Tuesday with an idea for you.

Growing up in Glenside, our parents, Bob and Mary, made sure we understood the importance of community — a value that my sister brings into her work every day. There are many causes in our local neighborhoods worthy of support, but today I want to highlight one that is near and dear to us personally.

As longtime animal lovers, Mad and I are big supporters of our area animal shelters. Their local work to care for lost, abandoned, and abused animals is demanding and emotional, and the nonprofits that serve our community in this way could surely use any support from our friends and neighbors.

We know that you believe in the power of collective action in our communities, and that’s why you’ve stayed so involved with Mad’s work. So this Giving Tuesday, we hope you’ll consider supporting our local animal shelters, or any organization that is close to your heart and your community!
