With president-elect Donald Trump declaring his opponents the “enemy within,” calling for critics of his stacked Supreme Court to be put in prison, and linking arms with the likes of X’s Elon Musk, today is a perfect time to give thanks for the First Amendment and support alternative voices to a kowtowing corporate media.

Our brave crew of researchers and reporters here at CMD has been blowing the whistle on powerful corporations and right-wing extremists for more than 30 years. From the Koch machine and pay-to-play influence operations like ALEC (the American Legislative Exchange Council) to climate deniers, union busters, and  insurrectionists, CMD has led the pack to give people the vital information they need to know who is trying to take democracy hostage and fight back. 

Our role as a watchdog for stealth attacks on our hard-won protections and freedoms will be even more important in the coming year. Everything is at stake.
