New Challenges for Migrants
As daunting as it has been to make progress in changing the way immigrants are perceived and treated in the U.S. in recent years, the new Administration promises to intensify the struggle exponentially. They are promising mass deportations, as well as increased intimidation, fear mongering and internment for migrants seeking asylum in our country.
Our work to provide welcome and kindness has become even more vital, as we expect to see more migrants sent back along the same routes in Mexico and Central America. Quixote Center will not waver in its commitment to the social justice principle stating that migration is a human right. We protect and uphold their human dignity by providing shelter, hygiene supplies, food, and legal assistance. We advocate for safe and humane pathways for families fleeing danger.
