Budzinski Calls Out Predatory Drug Middlemen for Squeezing Out Rural Community Pharmacists
— RiverBender.com, November 20, 2024
Congresswoman Budzinski is a cosponsor of the bipartisan Pharmacists Fight Back Act, which would remove the ability of PBMs to restrict patient choice through network exclusions and protects community pharmacists by prohibiting PBMs from steering patients toward PBM-affiliated pharmacies. She is also a cosponsor of the Drug Price Transparency in Medicaid Act and voted to help pass the Lower Costs, More Transparency Act, both of which would ban spread pricing and require price transparency for PBMs.

Last month was Rural Health Month, and Nikki took the House floor to stand in support of the bipartisan Pharmacists Fight Back to help small and rural pharmacists fight back against unfair and anticompetitive business practices by huge, predatory drug middlemen called Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs).

PBMs act as middlemen and inflate drug prices, hurting the pockets of everyday folks who are relying on affordable prescriptions. PBMs have forced independent pharmacies that have operated for decades to close, expanding care deserts, and leaving folks high and dry.

If you’re with us and want to put an end to this predatory practice, will you add your name and support the Pharmacists Fight Back Act? [[link removed]]
