Today isn't just the most important day of the year for Brady, friend — it's also a day of reflection, to contemplate how far we've come and how far we have yet to go.

Today, I'm thinking about all that's happened in the six years since I lost my daughter — since that day, more than 138 more Americans have been killed and more than 366 injured in almost 217 separate school shootings.

Today, I'm thinking about all the moments I was supposed to have with Jaime that were cut short. Teaching her to drive, seeing her have her first boyfriend — yes, I had my dad speech all worked out for whoever that boy was gonna be — and watching her graduate and achieve her dream of getting into the University of Florida and ultimately becoming a pediatric physical therapist.

Today is Giving Tuesday — a day where Brady can raise funds for the next year in order to prevent terrible gun violence and the tragic loss my family and I experienced from ever happening to another family ever again.
