There are stories that can be constructed in hours and there are stories that take weeks to nail down. As a reporter, I’ve learned that there are some hard-won sentences that can be worth the time invested – not because they’re particularly poetic but because they offer up proof of something important. Something that can have impact.

At DeSmog, my mission is to go chase down the energy and climate stories that the fossil fuel industry doesn’t want told – to bring that proof back to you. As an investigative reporter, I’ve published documents and testimony that have helped expose multi-billion dollar fraud and financial malfeasance in the fossil fuel industry, been cited in class action complaints and Congressional hearings, and shined a little light onto false climate solutions and misinformation.
