From Capitol Hill to Hollywood, your impact is building representation and justice.

Dear John,

As Giving Tuesday continues, we want to highlight one of the most transformative aspects of MPAC’s work: reshaping how Muslims are represented in the media.

Through our Hollywood Bureau, we are challenging harmful stereotypes that fuel Islamophobia and replacing them with authentic, nuanced storytelling. By partnering with industry leaders, writers, and producers, we’re ensuring that the stories told about Muslims reflect our humanity, diversity, and contributions. This work is already making an impact—as demonstrated by the recent announcement of the 2024 Muslim List, a collaboration between MPAC and The Black List, highlighting the very best work from Muslim writers.

This work goes hand in hand with MPAC’s 100-Day Agenda, which begins in earnest next month. Media representation plays a powerful role in combating the disinformation and bias that impact public perception and policy decisions. When we tell stories that matter, we create the cultural foundation for justice and equality to thrive.

But representation is just one part of our fight. Legislation like the House-passed “Non-profit Killer bill” threatens the ability of organizations like MPAC to advocate for justice and equality. Join us this Thursday ([link removed]) for a critical webinar where we’ll break down what this legislation means for advocacy groups and how we can stand together to oppose it.

Your midday gift today sustains this dual mission—advancing cultural change while driving policy advocacy. Together, we can tackle Islamophobia in all its forms and ensure that truth and dignity prevail in both storytelling and governance.
