Kitsap County Solid Waste Division is hosting a Fix-it Fair in Port Orchard! Fix-it Fairs are free community gatherings where you can have your broken belongings repaired by local volunteer fixers with a variety of skills and knowledge.
When: December 14, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants must arrive by 1:30 p.m. Those who arrive after 1:30 p.m. will be asked to attend a future event.
Where: Bob Oke Long Lake Community Building, 5100 Long Lake Road SE, Port Orchard, WA 98366.
We're working on scheduling repair events in 2025. Stay tuned!
What broken items can be brought to this event?
Kitsap residents are welcome to bring one or two items per event. Fixers will attempt repairs on one item at a time. If there’s time, you can join the line again with your second item. However, we may limit repairs to one item if the event is busy.
At this event, fixers will attempt to repair:
- mendable clothing and textiles, like tablecloths, curtains, jeans, and more (sorry, no zippers)
- holiday string lights
- small household appliances, like lamps, vacuums, toasters, and more
- jewelry
Specialty services available
We'll also have knife sharpening services available at no-cost. The knife sharpener can only accommodate a limited number of knives during the event hours, and we may turn participants away if capacity is met. Participants using this service are limited to one knife each.
Visit our Fix-it Fair website for more information on items not accepted and how to prepare before the event.
RSVP requested
Let us know what you're bringing so our fixers can prepare. This is not an appointment and is not required. All of our events are first-come, first-served.
