A Historic and Successful 17th Annual Palestine Convention – Thank You!

Dear Email,

We are thrilled to share that AMP’s 17th Annual Palestine Convention has been an overwhelming success, marking a historic milestone for the movement and the community. This year’s gathering was truly one for the books, with record-breaking attendance, countless moments of inspiration, and powerful displays of unity and resilience - 5000+ attendees, 70+ sessions across all programs, and 115+ vendors nationwide.

Despite facing challenges and external threats, we stood firm, and our commitment to advocating for Palestinian rights has never been more evident. Together, we proved that no obstacle can deter us from our mission of advocating, educating, and mobilizing for Gaza and the Palestinian people.

A few key highlights from this year’s convention:

First-Ever Palestine Retreat – A Huge Success!
This year we introduced the Palestine Retreat, which was a resounding success! This innovative space provided opportunities for deep reflection, strategy-building, and networking, bringing together activists, leaders, and community members to rejuvenate our collective commitment to the cause.

Diversity & Vibrancy: Sessions, Discussions, and Activities
The diversity of our sessions, discussions, and activities showcased the vibrancy of our movement. From panels on advocacy to community-building workshops, there was something for everyone. We witnessed inspiring dialogues, exchanged powerful ideas, and strengthened our resolve to keep pushing for justice.

Powerful Speeches and Speakers
This year, we were honored to hear from several impactful speakers who shared their insights, experiences, and calls to action. Dr. Maha Nassar, Josh Ruebner, Dr. Osama Abu Irshaid, and Dr. Hatem Bazian among others delivered unforgettable speeches that touched on the ongoing struggle, the importance of solidarity, and the urgency of action.

Saturday convention attendees enjoyed sessions in Arabic and English, moving the audience to tears and action. Speakers reiterated that the path towards liberation continues and we’ve never been closer. Renowned speaker Sami Hamdi left the audience encouraged and empowered, illustrating a changed media landscape that has made room for the Palestinian narrative.

Though we have a ways to go, the tide is turning and our voices can no longer be ignored. We heard from former U.S. State Department official Josh Paul, who discussed principled work when in government, and local doctors Thaer Ahmad and Jomana Al-Hinti, who traveled to Gaza on medical missions and described the horrors they witnessed. Attendees witnessed the progress we have made in the past year with regard to advocacy during the Movement United session, which brought together leaders from across the nation.

In addition, we were privileged to hear from voices directly from Gaza— including legendary Palestinian journalist, Wael Al-Dahdouh; 8-year-old amputee, Bara Abu Alroos; and al-Shifa hospital nurse, Ahmed Kouta—who provided powerful and moving accounts of the situation on the ground, inspiring us all to redouble our efforts.

Night of Sumud – A Celebration of Palestinian Talent
The Night of Sumud was a standout moment of the convention, where we celebrated Palestinian culture and talent in all its forms. The event featured performances by MC Abdul, Ahmad Abu Hatab, Noor Shadid, and many more. It was an unforgettable evening filled with music, poetry, and stories of resilience, all wrapped in the spirit of Palestinian pride and courage.

Youth & College Activism
We saw record attendance from college students and youth activists. Our youth and school programs were packed with energy, creativity, and commitment to the cause. The future is bright, and these young leaders are truly the driving force behind our movement.

Acknowledging Our Supporters
None of this would have been possible without the generous contributions of our sponsors, bazaar vendors, amazing volunteers, generous donors, and beautiful attendees. Your unwavering support, whether through time, resources, or energy, has helped us continue to push the Palestinian cause forward. Thank you for standing with us and showing the world the strength and power of Palestinian solidarity.

Together, we have shown that our commitment is stronger than ever. As we move forward, AMP will continue to be at the forefront of advocating, educating, and mobilizing for Palestinian rights, and we will not rest until justice is achieved.

Thank you once again for being a part of this historic event. We look forward to seeing you at the next gathering, continuing the momentum, and furthering our collective fight for Palestinian liberation.
