Since its founding in 1976, Quixote Center has teamed up with individuals and groups to achieve our common social justice goals. Today, our partners include the Franciscan Network on Migration. The Franciscans sponsor several shelters for migrants transiting Central America and Mexico. Quixote Center provides funds (thanks to you, our generous donors) for specific needs at shelters in Panama and Mexico, and in general, we serve as the Franciscan Network's fiscal sponsor in the U.S. Equally important, Quixote Center coordinates with the Network on the advocacy efforts we direct at the U.S. Congress. For example, the Center is urging Congress to rescind an order from the U.S. Administration that calls for Panama to return migrants emerging from the jungle connecting Colombia with Panama to their home countries, even though life in their countries is unsustainable.
Migration is a human right. People leave their homes only when they find no other options.
Please help us and our partners do everything we can to assist migrants in their journeys and to urge U.S. lawmakers to develop immigration policies that are fair and humane. Thank you. |
